January 2026 Starset Living Lore

Welcome to the new year with new Starset RPG lore! The following outcomes are now in effect and should be applied to new sessions played in January 2026:

TMC has laid its own mines in Wyndsor Bay. The fishing syndicates are out of work and out for blood. Any character collecting income from Society receives no income for sessions played in January 2026 and loses one reputation with the TMC.Then gain one reputation with the Underworld. If his or her Underworld reputation is 5+, gain the <contacts> keyword. Gangs have stormed The Crater, the TMC scattered, and the weapon disappeared. The TMC has cracked down on travel throughout the city as they search for the missing weapon. From now on, when doubles are rolled on urban journeys through New Detroit (pg. 257), characters also encounter a pair of TMC peacekeepers who will question or arrest anyone with negative TMC reputation.

Gangs stormed The Crater in search of a mysterious weapon—and they found one. But in the fighting, under the cover of dark, it disappeared. Initial reports say Bimble's crew stole the weapon, but their truck was found burning and thugs executed by morning. No one knows where the weapon is now. Whoever controls it controls the power to obliterate New Detroit—and everyone in it. TMC Vice President Esper Ramirez has heard rumors that Bimble was responsible for The Crater attack.Within a week, TMC forces will storm The Hub and haul its occupants away. Some occupants are already taking their chances and trying to escape across The Badlands or the Waste of Profit. Others prepare to make a stand and remind TMC whose city it is.
